The Early Intervention System is a federally funded, State-run program that provides services to children ages birth-3 with developmental delays and/or a diagnosis that may impact their development. Evaluations are completed to determine eligibility. Evaluations are free of charge and are available to anyone who has a concern regarding their child's development. A child must have a 30% delay or greater in at least one area of development to qualify or they must have a qualifying diagnosis or have at-risk factors that make them automatically eligible to receive services.
Once eligibility is determined and the child is found eligible for services, an Individualized Family Service plan is developed, which outlines goals, strategies and services recommended by the team. Services are then implemented based on the family's concerns and priorities.
Building Blocks Therapy Services is one of several agencies that offers evaluations required for determining eligibility for Early Intervention, as well as direct therapy services if the child qualifies.
